It was another small win for Nigerian bodybuilding on Saturday 20 September 2025 at the Braywick Leisure Centre in Maidenhead, a small market town located some 50km west of London, the British capital. The occasion was the Gritness Grand Prix, an IFBB Pro League - NPC Worldwide Regional qualifier put together by 2Bros Pro Events and featuring contests across Men’s (Open) bodybuilding; Men’s Classic Physique; Men’s Physique; Figure; Wellness & Fit model; as well as Bikini.
Our interest stems from the Men’s Classic Physique Division, specifically Class ‘B’, where our own Samson Abah a.k.a. ‘Elastiick’, a Manchester-based bodybuilder, took top honours here. As it was a regional show, there were no pro cards up for grabs, but for our man, it served as a pretty useful bit of prep for the British Nationals coming up in mid-October in the city of Bradford, and he is typically grateful for how far he has come as well as upbeat about what’s to come: “I secured a class win for the first time and get to battle for the overall title. I couldn’t have done it without the support of my incredible coach…to family, friends and teammates that kept reaching out and sending their love and support, I appreciate you all and this win is the first one (sic) many more to come for us all.”
Congratulations, Elastiick, and we at The NBD wish you many more wins to come indeed!
