In his words: ‘‘I first got intrigued by the sport way back in 2016, when my brother came visiting our hometown from Lagos after a long while. I was wowed by the remarkable transformation in his physique, but as I was still in secondary school I didn't engage in the game fully until 2019. Hitting the gym used to serve as a therapeutic cure for my multiple bouts of depression, and during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, it became an obsession, and then an addiction. The results I gained enabled me win an online (WhatsApp-based) bodybuilding contest. I do not think I have reached the level of stage competition yet, but it is something I am considering for the near future, as I seek to gain access to better facilities to improve on my physique as well as my strength.’’
