In his words: ‘‘I first started bodybuilding in the year 2020; it had come as a source of self-redemption and rediscovery to me (having lost my sight 10 years prior due to the onset of glaucoma), the shattering of my dreams and confidence as well as my questioning my sense of identity and self-worth. One day, having stumbled upon a street gym, I discovered a new sport. I found solace in weightlifting and the transformative power of fitness. Not only has bodybuilding built me up physically, it has given me my confidence, purpose and and a new dream to follow. By the grace of God I am now a graduate of Law from UNIJOS as well as The Nigerian Law School, and have considered a fitness modelling career; with each photoshoot, runway walk and public appearance, I want to prove that disability is not inability, become a beacon of hope for others with disabilities, shatter stereotypes and break down barriers.’’
