Meet Private (Pte.) Ridwan Olayode Erinfolami of the 3rd Armoured Division of the Nigerian Army, who is stationed at the Maxwell Khobe Cantonment – popularly referred to as the Rukuba barracks – which is located in the city of Jos, the capital of Plateau State in North-Central Nigeria!
This young army officer, who goes by the alias ‘Stone’, hails from Badagry Local Government Area of Lagos State, South-West Nigeria, and he joined the Nigerian Army in 2022. He is an ardent disciple of physical activity, and initially had a love for the sport of boxing, having been exposed to the sport by his father, who is a semi-professional boxer. In the process, the young man was exposed to the basics of weight-lifting, and thus bodybuilding crept slowly into the picture, eventually capturing his imagination: “I tried a career in boxing starting in 2010 and upon joining the Army, represented my Division in (what category) at the 2023 Nigerian Army ‘Inter-Div’ Games, but ever since, I have taken up more of an interest in the sport of bodybuilding, and in particular Men's Physique. I am crazy about working out, and everyone in the barracks knows about my new-found passion! My main challenge though, has been the need to delicately balance the demands of serving the nation, which I am proud to do, with (those of) nurturing a budding competitive bodybuilding career, but anyway, we move!”
We salute you, Pte. Erinfolami!
