The Lyft Oman Pro Championship took place over the period 22-23 October 2026 at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC) in the city of Muscat, capital of Oman. An NPC (National Physique Committee)-IFBB (International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation) - sanctioned Qualifier recognised as one of the highest-quality competitions in the region, it attracted a healthy participation of over 120 athletes from various countries competing for six (6) IFBB Pro Cards spread across three primary divisions of Men’s Bodybuilding, Classic Physique as well as Men’s Physique. Sri Lankan bodybuilder Madhavan Rajkumar, professionally known as R.K. Rajakumaran won the overall title and one of the two Men’s Bodybuilding Pro cards for the Men’s Bodybuilding category, with the other card picked up by Nzembu Etube Godlove, who finished as overall runner-up. Alireza Zahedian of Iran took the Classic Physique category, finishing ahead of Murad Al-Khmous, with both earning the coveted Pro Cards on offer here, while in the Men’s Physique category, homeboy Ahmed Alhaidi scooped gold, while Harvyn Rana from the UK finished runner up, with both winning the last 2 Pro Cards available.
Nigerian interest in the championship was centred around athletes and brothers Hassan Sambo Muhammed as well as Sadiq Muhammed competing in the Super-heavyweight and Welterweight divisions (Men’s Bodybuilding) respectively, with Hassan putting up a decent showing in what was the toughest division, while Sadiq beat all comers to top his division. Another Nigerian, Cornelius John, also participated in the same division. It was a good, even if not easy experience for the athletes to gain valuable exposure, and for Hassan, he is already looking to the future with another championship coming up on the horizon in Egypt, while logging lessons learnt from this event from Oman!
Keep up the good work, guys, we are proud of you!
