In his words: ‘‘I first started bodybuilding around 2006, with a couple of improvised concrete dumbbells at home, supplemented by daily press ups. Eventually I joined the Lion club gym before moving on to the Ahmadu Bello stadium. I had always been inspired and motivated by seeing other bodybuilders, but faced discouragement from friends and family, especially my Dad, who felt that my practice of the sport would have adverse effects. Later on my family began to appreciate my efforts and I now feel good about myself, my improving body and my health.’’
